dogs
LilRedHrdGrl asked:

After a seeing responses to a couple of other questions about coloring dogs, I just have to ask why do people think this is cruel? I’m thinking you don’t understand the process. There are NO toxic chemicals being used. It’s no more cruel than giving a dog a bath. What part of it do you find cruel? After watching and participating in several creative grooming competitions, and dying clients’ dogs, I have yet to see one dog die or even suffer for it.

If you don’t like the look of it, that’s one thing, but that does not justify crying animal cruelty.
The dyes we use such as Manic Panic are NOT like the ones most people put in there hair. No amonia, no peroxide. No harmful chemicals. No oder. I suspect it’s not a case of not understanding the process, but not understanding the products as well.

Once again, of the hundreds of dogs I’ve seen dyed, not one has a skin problem, including my own.

it doesn’t change the fact that you are putting chemicals onto this dog. Unless it is all organic it is animal cruelty..load yourself up with chemicals for all I care but the dog doesn’t really have a choice leave the poor thing alone.

it’s not. it’s like people using hair dye and color, unless they do it all the time to the point that the hair is falling out or anything like that.

stephanie- chemicals are in the flea and tick medicine people put on dogs, true it may be for protection but hair dye only dries out the skin that can be fixed by buying special kinds of shampoo for the dog.

Well, I feel like people shouldn’t dye there dogs. I mean, if people love there dogs, then why would they want to change the coat color? Dogs are not accessories, there’s no point in changing a dog’s color just to make it look cute. Dogs are not supposed to be changed like changing your shoes!

I don’t think it’s cruel… I think it’s fancy and excentric. Dogs make excellent accessories. People who do that to their dogs usually treat their dogs like royalty, those dogs don’t have any thing to worry about, they cater to this dogs better than they treat their own kids… So dear, go on and paint more dogs, one dog at a time… have fun and you better start creating a portfolio, have a photo album with your best creations. That’s hot!!!

Besides it looking stupid, you mean?
Dog skin is very delicate and putting chemicals on it might cause it to break out it blisters, even cause an allergy.
    It’s cruel.
