dog
Sleek asked:

My baby LOVES dogs. She says “dog” at least 5 or 6 times a day and we don’t even have a dog. So, for her 1st birthday (in about 2 months) its gonna be a Dog Day ;-D. Please don’t say she won’t remember, because I’d have to beg to differ. I remember my 1st birthday and her Dad has early memories, too.

Besided Clifford the Big Red Dog and real dogs, the pet store, etc., what are some other dog themed things? Ideas?

Party express has the ones that have the big face, kind of like the extreme close up, they are really stinkin cute. I bought some stuff from them for my little ones first b-day. they also have this plate that is like a guest book, with a permanent pen with it and the guests sign it and then she will always have who came to her party, it was a big hit. let me double ck on the address for them nope i was wrong. birthdayexpress.com. Enjoy!!!!

Who cares if the baby remembers the birthday or not. Its a special day and you can celebrate however big you want!!!

For the invitations, make them into the shape of dog bones. Or shaped like a dogs paw.

For decorations, add construction paper ears and a face drawn on with permanent marker to balloons to make them look like dogs

For the cake, make a round cake and 4 cupcakes to look like a dogs paw

For goodie bags, get a bunch of brown paper bags and constructions paper. Before the party cut out eyes, noses, mouths and ears out of the paper for the kids to make their own “doggy bags”

For centerpieces or party favors, make bowls of puppy chow, here is a recipe
    Puppy Chow Recipe
    1 Cup Chocolate Chips
    8 Cups Chex Cereal
    1 Cup Peanut Butter
    4 Cups Powdered Sugar
    1 Cube Butter or Margarine

Melt butter, chocolate chips, and peanut butter together. Pour over Chex cereal. Put mixture in paper bag, add powdered sugar and shake until covered. Delicious!

For games, have the kids bring their favorite stuffed dog or picture of a dog to have a dog show or play pin the tail on the dog

Here is a link to lots more ideas, hope these help…

I found these party packs at Oriental Trading Company’s website.
My personal favorite is the first link. You have a choice of what size party pack to buy.
Good Luck! My son will be turning 1 on October 11th, and I am also starting to plan!
