Im planning on picking up a German Shepherd that was found as a stray and they took her to the Animal Control shelter which is horrible. Not to mention another word is Death Row. Nobody knows about this place, and the only reason I found it was because I was looking for my lost dogs. Anyway my parents adopted 2 last week and I have one indoors + an older cat. Does it seem like to much to have 3 big dogs outside? 1 inside and a cat to top it off?

As long as you have the time and dedication to give them all the proper care, attention, and exercise than it’s fine.
it depends on how busy you are. if noone is ever home,then one or two is enough. but if u have more time i think 2-6 is a good number
Depends on the situation. I am an animal-lover and I’ve had a lot of pets in my life - no, REALLY. I only had one dog though. I’d say 8 would be stretching it. 6 would be a handle. 4 would be okay. As few as possible! I mean this in the best way possible, the fewer you have the more attention and love you can give each one. Think about it rationally: If these 5 pets (including cat and german shepherd) are gonna recieve less attention from you cos there are two many, the consequences could be running away or death, at the most extreme. But if you were to send it to the animal control centre, at least it would live (maybe) and your pets now wouldn’t suffer. But this is the most extreme case. I’d say keep it. But only if at least one person in your family is home at all times.
I don’t think so because not all of them are inside. But if you know you aren’t going to take good care of ALL of them then you shouldn’t get anymore. Good luck!~
Please check with your town or village to see if there is a pet limit per household, and whether licensing is necessary. Consider getting all your pets micro-chipped, so that if they get “lost” again, they will be easier to find.

You mentioned that you were looking for your lost dogs. How many lost dogs do you have?
The reality is that if you live in a rural community no number is too high or too low as it entirely depends on what you’ve got to offer.
Some cities/towns have zoning laws that limit the number of indoor/outdoor pets one has. That needs to be taken ito consideration. There are animals that simply don’t get along with other animals and that, too, needs to be considered.
According to the Dog Law website:
“In rural areas, how many dogs you keep is pretty much your own business, as long as the dogs aren’t a nuisance. But many cities restrict residents to two or three dogs per household, not counting puppies less than a certain age, usually eight weeks to four months or so.”
If you live in the city don’t be surprised in bylaw officers come a knocking on your door since you’ve now got 4 dogs.
You’ve probably already considered your finanacial obligation and time commitment. Really it comes down to how many you want to be able to help. It’s admirable to want to help an animal that can’t speak for itself; however you may need to limit the number in the future.
Three dogs outside and one dog + cat inside sounds perefctly reasonable to me. Then again, I like animals and only have two (my human + my cat). That’s how many I can handle on a day-to-day basis. If you can and want and it’s legal to handle more…go for it!
FYI I know a great lady that has three dogs at home + she dog sits and/or picks up strays which means she often has up to 8 dogs in her house at any given time. Sometines for weeks on end. I don’t know how she does it. I just know that when she sees me she makes room in heart to love me and I get a cookie in return.
